stitch flipping trouble

I feel like I am still struggling when flipping the stitch. I cannclode the loop regularly, and make picots, but I cannot close it when I flip the stitch. I’m not sure if it’s my tension, or if it could be something else

Howdy, I'm new around here

Hello there, I recently joined the beginner course to learn shuttle tatting. I learned to needle tat some in high school, and have picked it up again and worked on a few projects over the last year. I have really struggled with shuttles, but I like learning new techniques and want to make finer gauge designs. So far I have really enjoyed the class but I have quite a way to go to be proficient. I am very interested in needle crafts, fashion history, and lace making in general. I hope to make jewelry primarily and learn to work with beads as well. I thought I'd share a couple of my needle tatted projects for now.


I also made a tiny human recently, and decorated a onesie for her first Valentine's Day. Portable, calming crafts have helped me survive and rest throughout my pregnancy and these newborn days.

Love this idea! The chain placement is actually very nice; I think the only thing I would change is cutting that top chain above bauble into two sections and attaching them to the point of the bauble motif. That would give it some more stability.

An introduction

Hello everyone! I'm pretty new to tatting, I started a few years ago after seeing sparrow on tiktok I think, but got ill and lost my shuttle so never progressed passed basics. I've recently started again and am super excited to learn and hopefully start bein able to do patterns!
